I write. If I don’t, I might detonate.
It’s the same reason I listen to instrumental music. Writing keeps me grounded. Writing lets me worship. Writing reminds me of who I am, and who I have the potential to be. I write poetry somedays — even though it feels messy and tangled with never ending loose ends. (I think I love it.) I write posts here on this blog, capturing my life and my humanity one of the only ways I know how. And I write fiction, which is my favourite kind. It’s the writing that wakes me up deep in the middle of the night, and even through my slushy exhaustion I have to turn the light on and get my words down before they slip away.
